Darlington Civic Theatre:

It is the cultural center of Darlington. The program offers varied performances of high quality theater, dance, music, comedy and opera. Very popular in Darlington is the annual family pantomime. The theater is located on the Parkgate in Darlington. The program can be found on the website.

St. Cuthbert"s Church :

On the marketplace of Darlington is the "St. Cuthbert"s" church. This church dates from 1180 and is one of the most important early English churches in the north of England. The church is every day open from Easter to September from eleven o"clock in the morning until one o"clock in the afternoon.

Raby Castle:

It has been home to the family of Lord Barnard from 1626 on and is one of the best kept castles from the Middle Ages in England. It was built by the powerful Nevill family and remained in their possession until 1569. From May to September, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday there is the possibility to join a guided tour through the castle. These tours last about an hour and a quarter and need to be booked in advance. The castle is located in Saint Drop Darlington, you can find information about the opening hours and admission prices on their website. These both highly differ per season.

The Dolphin Centre:

It is a nice place to spend a day with your kids. It is a pool complex with an 8-lane lap pool, a paddling pool, two water slides and an indoor playground with the theme: "under the sea". It is probably the best to call them in advance to check if they are open and what the entrance fees are exactly, since it is not clearly mentioned on the website. "The Dolpin Centre" is located about one kilometer from the center of Darlington to the "Horse Market.

Adventure Point :

A second option to go to with your kids is Adventure Point. This is a paradise for children, with an indoor and outdoor playground! This playground offers everything that children dream: slides, tunnels, rope bridges, ball pools, six-meter high climbing frames, bumper cars, animals sessions, sports fields for all ball sports etc.. In addition, there are activities sessions with the smallest children, where the staff entertains them. There is a beautiful outdoor terrace for the parents. You can spend the whole day here, because it"s unlimited open and there is the possibility to have lunch and/or dinner. The entrance fee for adults and 2 pounds for children from four to sixteen 6 pounds. For children one to three are the 5 pounds entrance fee, for babies under a 1 pounds and it is for babies under six months is free. Shopping:

Darlington is very popular among the real shoppers, as it has more than 500 stores in total, of which about 250 independent stores.
