Travel to Ports in Lanzarote

Lanzarote Island’s main port, Port Carmen (Puerto del Carmen) is one of the most important tourist centers on the island and boasts more than 6 km (4 mi) of beaches sheltered from the ocean wind, such as Playa Grande (Big Beach), Los Pocillos, and Matagorda, which are the biggest and also offer a variety of hotels. Port Carmen is without a doubt the number one destination in Lanzarote Island for those who love the night life; it’s the part of the island with the highest concentration of bars, pubs, and nightclubs. In both Varadero and in most of Avenida de las Playas (Beach Avenue) you can find venues to accommodate any kind of taste. Furthermore, you can find various places that offer live music, shows, and ocean-side lounges.

The place for embarking on a submarine is in Calero Port. This totally unique adventure is great for grown-ups and kids alike. This excursion lasts 25 minutes and the submarine descends to a depth of 35 meters (115 feet), from which you can look through the portholes and see hundreds of fish, such as bogue, gueldes, black damselfish, viejas, and groupers. Sometimes barracudas accompany the submarine on its journey.
