Travel and Tourism in El Hierro

To start your trip in bus or minibus rental with driver around El Hierro, we suggest visiting some of the nature sites. We love the El Hierro Nature Park (Parque Natural de El Hierro), which is located between the cities of Frontera and Valverde and boasts varied flora and fauna due to the different climates at different altitudes. You also shouldn’t miss the Garoé National Nature Park for Birds (Parque Natural de Interés Nacional para las Aves de Garoé), which has volcanoes and the sacred Garoé tree. Continuing the tour, it would also be appropriate to visit Gorreta and Salmor, which has numerous cliffs and rocks which are home to a great variety of marine birds, and Timijiraque, which isn’t as big but offers immense beauty in the form of its giant cacti (known as cardonales) and ravines, which were formed over millennia and are the oldest part of the island.

Currently you can rent bicycles from Hierro Aventura or Buceo La Restinga, both of which are geared towards tourists and not only rent bikes but also offer guides for bike tours through the city, horseback-riding trails, kayak trips, boat excursions, and airplane tours.
