What to expect when renting a car with driver in Marrakesh?

Marrakech is more than just an old city. The surrounding mountains offers great day trips, and Marrakech is often just a starting point for an exploration that heads in the Sahara desert. Public transport out of Marrakech is sporadic and uncomfortable and doesn"t head to the most exciting destinations – like the African ski slopes or the Sahara sand dunes. So what do you get when you rent a car with driver in Marrakech?

Round trip and car with driver tour deals

Some of the best value comes when taking a trip out of the desert. The most common route is a 3-5 day trip going Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Sahara Desert – Middle Atlas Mountains – Fes / Marrakech. This can cost about €600 for a vehicle, which is very cheap considering that you"ll cover around 1500kms.

Pay for extra comfort for when driving through dessert and mountains

When looking at quotes for car with driver rental prices it"s important to check exactly what"s included. You should make sure that there are no hidden extras like paying for the driver"s meals or accommodation. Also ask for quotes for different vehicles if you are traveling a long distance. Paying a bit extra for added comfort is usually worth it when you"re traveling along winding mountain passes and through dusty desert.

What happens if there is a problem?

If there are any problems then you should immediately speak to the rental company. Just like hiring a car and self-driving the rental company should fix the problem. If your vehicle breaks down then they should arrange a replacement. Make sure that everything is detailed in your contract to avoid any confusion. For example, if you want to make a short detour off the route then have it in the contract before you set off.

What to see with your chauffeured rental car around Marrakesh

Most people hire a rental car with driver for one of two excursions. Either a day trip from Marrakech or a trip to the Atlas Mountains and/or Sahara Desert.

Day trips from Marrakesh

One of Marrakech"s greatest appeals is the variety of day trips on offer. Within one hour you can be in national parks full of flowing waterfalls. Or perhaps you want to head south towards the highest mountain in Northern Africa and one of the only places on the continent where you can go skiing. Within two hours you can be on the coast, relaxing in the old town of Essaouira or surfing some waves.
