Nightlife

The nightlife in Peterborough is not very extensive as it will be in London but it offers some nice options.

You have the Attica VIP Nightclub. This is a club and cocktail lounge that is located on Broadway in the centre.

The ghost club lounge is the newest club. This club has a very long wall with LED lights and it is open every Friday and Saturday night. The DJs let you hear the latest tracks. It is located on New Road.

You also have the Rock Bar. This is not too old and not too new. There is every Friday and Saturday classic"" old school"" twisted music. Think of artist like Bon Jovi, Queen of Girls Aloud. This club is located on New Road.

Of course you have more clubs in Peterborough. Most clubs will be able to find at New Road.

Transfers to and from the airport

Peterborough has its own airport: Peterborough Airport (EGSP). This is just about 7 kilometres from the city. It is always useful to have transport to and from the airport. Peterborough can be reached in several ways. One of these is by plane. Peterborough offers several possibilities of airfields. First of all you have the Peterborough Airport (EGSP), this airport is the airport of Peterborough itself. It is located about 7 kilometres from the city of Peterborough off. Other airports located near Peterborough are: East Midlands Airport (EMA), London Stansted Airport (STN), London Luton Airport (LTN), Norwich International Airport (NWI), Birmingham Airport (BHX) and Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield (DSA).

From these airports there are flying some famous airlines such as British Airways, KLM, CityJet and Blue Islands. The airports are all about 104-150 kilometres away from the city Peterborough. At each airport you can be transported to Peterborough in groups or individually. You can be transported by rented bus.

Travel by road

Do you not like to travel by plane or train? It is also possible to reach Peterborough by car, taxi or bus. The A10 is the main road and leads you to a great part of England. Leicester

Leicester is an ancient city with a history of over 2000 years old. The city offers a wonderful mix of old and modern buildings. The city is designed for both young and old. Famous old buildings in Leicester are the Curve, Highcross and the National Space Centre. It offers a rich choice of art, culture, attractions, shops and restaurants.

Nottingham

Notthingham is a city in the county Notthinghamshire. It is best known for the legend of Robin Hood. He would have lived in the city. The Notthingham Castle is a famous building. The ancient remains of this castle would have also played a role in the story of Robin Hood. The castle is open for visitors.

Another interesting attraction is The Park. This is a region that consists of 150 hectares. The Park contains many Victorian buildings and the streets are still lit with old gas lamps. You must see it. Other tourists like to come to Nottingham for the nightlife and its shopping options.

Theatres

In the evening there are a lot of things to do in Peterborough. It offers two great theatres where you can enjoy different kind of shows every night.

The Key Theatre

It is located in the centre of the city, overlooking the River Nene. It has an extensive theatre program that includes concerts, ballet, drama etc. In the theatre you will find an excellent restaurant. The Riva is an English cuisine and offers beautiful views over the river.

The Cresset Theatre

It is located in the centre and offers performing arts for all ages. There are many concerts with famous artists from England as the favourite Adele. You can also go to some famous plays such as The Lion King.

Burghley House

This is one of the largest houses descended from the Elizabeth Age. The building was built especially for Queen Elizabeth. It is wonderful to see this palace. The interior is nicely decorated with lots of silk materials. Everything is still intact. All furniture, beds, bedding and objects are well preserved. The Burghley house provides a beautiful view of what life used to be in England in the 16th century.

Nene Park

This is a park that is 10 kilometres long. It is located along the River Nene. In this park you can do many activities. It offers a huge range of golf clubs. Also, it is possible to go canoeing, cycling, mountain biking or take a boat trip on the River Nene. It offers plenty of activities for young and old. It is an excellent option if you want to relax for a day.

Shopping

For both women and men, there is a wide choice when it comes to shopping. There are three shopping malls in this town. Then there"s the city market and independent shops. Well-known shopping malls are Queensgate Shopping Centre and Peterborough Garden Park. Queensgate offers over 90 different shops on all matters ranging from clothing to electronics retailers. Peterborough Garden Park is a very nice centre for those with green fingers. Here you can find anything like Pool shops to gardening shops.

Cathedral Square is a must. Around the square there are several clothing stores and cafes. The square is full of entertainers. There are people who pretend to be a statue, fire breathers and dancers.

Food

Peterborough is very diverse in the range of restaurants. You can go to a local restaurant where they serve mainly fatty meat. But there are also many Indonesian, Italian, Chinese, African, Thai and Polish restaurants. For everyone there is something. The emissions of each restaurant look different again. One is located in the centre and looks classy or very old. The other is located outside the city in a beautiful country house with lovely views over the fields. Bombay Brassiere is located at Mumbai. It has an Indian kitchen and cost between 19-25 pounds. The restaurant is family friendly and specializes in groups. The restaurant looks very dark inside with its wooden floors and red tablecloths. This gives the restaurant a very warm and cosy feeling.

Shuckburgh

Another popular restaurant is Shuckburgh Arms on Main Street. This restaurant is located in the centre and looks very nice, but also expensive. It has a British cuisine and the dishes consist largely of meat dishes.

Dibson

Just outside the centre is the Dibson Inn. It is situated on the Great North Road. The hotel has a restaurant. The restaurant consists of a large and beautiful old country house with a beautiful green garden surrounding it. The kitchen is British. The restaurant has the look of an expensive house.

Emperor Restaurant

Do you like a Chinese restaurant with delicious Sushi? Then the Emperor Restaurant is more likely for you. It is located on Lincoln Road, with a Chinese cuisine. The cook and servers are all Chinese and very friendly.
