An unforgettable tour

This city offers a number of unique tourist attractions, so be sure to see some of the symbols of the city, such as Pilgrim"s Church (la Iglesia de La Peregrina). It"s located in the historic district and was built in 1778. It"s a baroque-style building with some neoclassical influences; its circular façade is its most distinctive feature. Though it"s somewhat small, this building is magnificent nonetheless.

Sculpture Island (Isla de las Esculturas)

This is a great place to take in the natural environment and get away from the rat race of the city as you admire the diverse sculptures all within view of the mouth of the river.

You can take a microbus hire with driver to the historic district to visit Timber Square (Plaza de la Leña), the greatest symbol of the city of Pontevedra. In the past timber was sold there, hence the name. Currently, it is home to the main buildings of Pontevedra Provincial Museum, and in the middle of the plaza there"s a 15th century cross monument.
