When you are ready to choose a place to eat, we suggest to travel to the Restaurante El Palomar in Atapuerca, a rustic cafe with a terrace-garden and home cooking. Mesón El Pastor in Aranda de Duero is ideal for enjoying their  famous baked lamb and their wines, and finally there is Restaurante El Prado de las Merinas in Caleruega with its large windows that let you get to know the city and the garden.

Bicycle Tours and Rental in Burgos

The city council of Burgos has also implemented a more ecologically sound form of transportation by creating bicycle paths and rental stores that are accessible to locals. There are various bicycle rental companies, like Bicibur, which is the Free Bicycle Lending System, and there are others that are geared towards tourism and also offer guided tours, such as Reciclet, Bike Extrem, and Movimiento.

The city offers unique tourist attractions, so we recommend that you at least visit the Burgos Cathedral (Catedral de Burgos); The Human Evolution Complex (el Complejo de la Evolución Humana), one of the works of architect Navarro Baldeweg, which is shaped like the Congressional Palace; the Human Evolution Museum (el Museo de la Evolución Humana); and the National Investigation Center (Centro Nacional de Investigación).

Santa María la Real de las Huelgas Monastery

Besides its halls, cloisters, and the Museum of Fine Fabrics (el Museo de Ricas Telas), this monestary also contains the sepulchers of the kings who founded it.
If you take a walk through the middle of the medieval district, near the Cathedral, we suggest that you stop by El Paseo del Espolón, which a symbol of the city and is near Teatro Principal (Main Theatre), the island that serves as the city"s botanical garden, and El Paseo del Espoloncillo, on the other side of the river across from Espolón with some monuments to El Cid.
La Casa del Cordón, an ancient palace with royal ropes carved into the entrance, and Cartuja de Miraflores, a fifteenth century monastery which is home to the tomb of John II, are considered to be some of the best places to visit in Burgos.
You can take a microbus or taxi to downtown Burgos to see Plaza Santa María, which has a fountain in the middle and is surrounded by the Cathedral and Church of San Sebastián and Plaza de la Libertad (Liberty Square), which was known as Plaza de los Mercados (Market Square) until the 19th century.

La Habitación Sonora

A bar where you can enjoy good music, the kind that soothes the soul,  and have a few drinks, or you could enjoy a more sinful spectacle at Grotésque Club. This bar special bar is located on Barrio Gimeno Street in downtown.

Castle View Point (Mirador del Castillo)

A must-see vista for anyone taking a trip through the city. This scenic vista is located below the castle and offers a panoramic view of the city. It also has a bar from which you can admire the city of Burgos. It’s located on top of Burgos Hill.

Statue of El Cid

Located in the middle of downtown, in la Plaza del Cid, this monument is one of the most beloved by the inhabitants of Burgos. This statue was erected in 1955 by Franco and also has a small garden.

Situated near Plaza Mayor in downtown, inside an eighteenth-century house. It has multiple floors and lift to get to them. It features flavors from around the world with a very varied menu that doesn’t hurt your wallet too badly.

Casa Quintanilla

Located on La Paloma Street in downtown, you can buy the famous Burgos cheese and blood sausage here. This is considered to be a very special store, where the owner attends to clients in person. You can also get some delicious licorice here.
