As described previously , the three most visited attractions in Apeldoorn are the Apenheul, Queen JulianaTower and the National Museum Palace Het Loo. These are the perfect attractions for a day trip away. The attractions are easily accessible by a bus or a private bus. Walking tour through the city

Of course there are many walking routes in the surroundings of the Veluwe, but also in Apeldoorn itself there is plenty to do. A walk through the city center is the perfect opportunity to discover the city. Apeldoorn offers a wide range of shops and several modern shoppingstreets. There is also a large shopping mall which is called the Oranjerie. Furthermore, in the east of Apeldoorn there is a large Woonboulevard where many people come look for. Of course you can also discover Apeldoorn by bike, therefore, it is nice to know where you can rent a bike. Bike point Apeldoorn is located on the Stationsweg and rents bicycles for a fixed price per day .

Nightlife

After a day out in Apeldoorn, it is always nice to have some drinks in the evening. There are especially many cafés on the Hoofdstraat, the Nieuwstraat and the Marktstraat . These include the Confetti Cafe, the Flierefluiter Cafe, the Blues Café and Café Bizzy"s. Big clubs are mainly found in the area and not directly in Apeldoorn itself. Golf and Business Club The Scherpenbergh is located in the southern part of Apeldoorn. The golf course has an accommodation, equipped with meeting rooms. These rooms are available for groups of 5 to 100 visitors.

By plain to or from Gelderland

Teuge International Airport (TEU) Apeldoorn is located in Gelderland but has no commercial flights. Within the Netherlands we recommend to fly to the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS), the Eindhoven Airport (EIN) or the Rotterdam International Airport. All these airport have similar transfer times towards this province.

Teuge Airport could be used for national and international air traffic. Especially for business travelers, there is the possibility to book a private flight by Stairflights. Stairflights is an business airline who brings business travelers to any airports in Europe. Business travelers will be transported in a private plane with a maximum of eight people.
Teuge is located between the cities Apeldoorn and Deventer. The airport is easily accessible by public transport (bus) and car. You could oof course also choose to get private chauffeured transportation.

Apenheul

Of course a day watching monkeys is always nice therefore is the Apenheul the perfect day out. The Apenheul is located on the outskirts of the city. The Apenheul is located in the Mountain & Forest nature park of about 200 hectares. The park offers a variety of species of monkeys. The monkeys are originally from Africa, Asia and South America. Most monkeys walk among the visitors as they lead a very free life in the Apenheul. There are hardly any cages, and the big gorillas, bonobos and orangutans live on separate islands where you can study them from a distance. Good to know is that groups of 20 persons each receive € 2,50 discount on the entrance. There are also several packages to book for groups such as workshops, guided tours and various coffee / tea drinks. The Apenheul is closed for visitors during the wintertime.

Queen Juliana Park

Queen Juliana park is a small amusement park located west of the city of Apeldoorn. The park is highly recommended for groups that include children, especially for a family day out. In 1910, the first attraction was built " The Julianatoren " the second attraction came with distorting mirrors. Over the years, the park is further developed and has become increasingly popular. Especially popular with the kids is Jul the Tower Mouse, he is the mascot of the park. Also at the amusement park groups of 20 get a discount of € 5.50. For € 19.95 per person you get a ticket including a KidsBox, burger menu or snack menu.

National Museum Palace Het Loo

The National Museum Palace Het Loo is a former royal palace and is located on the outskirts of the city of Apeldoorn. The palace ranks among the top 100 of the Dutch UNESCO monuments and the Palace is owned by the state. After the restoration in the 70s the palace was opened as a museum. In the museum you get an impression of how the successive royal family in the Palace lived. There is also a large collection of carriages to see. Palace Het Loo is surrounded by a beautiful garden which includes French influences. On Wednesday, the balcony is accessible and you will have a beautiful view over the garden, here you can see that one half of the garden is a mirror image of the other half.
The Palace is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 15:00. Also at Palace Het Loo, groups of 20 people get a discount of € 2.50. A full tour of the Palace and the Palace Gardens takes about 3 hours.

Boschbad

Especially in the summer periods the Boschbad located in Apeldoorn is great. Boschbad is an outdoor swimming pool located in the Mountain & Forest Park. With its 14 hectares, Boschbad is the largest outdoor pool in the Netherlands. There are several slides and play equipment in the park. Also, there are lawns, catering facilities and changing rooms. Besides swimming, you can also play mini golf, canoeing, basketball and table tennis. The pool is open from May 1 to September 15. There is no special discount for groups, but a one day pass is not expensive. An adult pays € 5 for all access to the entire park. The day tickets can be purchased at the pay desk or you can book them in advance online.

JT Cinemas

JT Cinemas provides the film line in Apeldoorn. The cinema chain JT owns 21 cinemas in 19 locations in the Netherlands. The cinema in Apeldoorn has 6 different halls and around 1050 seats. In addition to a diverse range of films, you can also get a snack and a drink. So if you just want to relax after a day out in Apeldoorn then the JT cinema is the perfect option. The standard rate is €9.50 per person and there are no special discounts for groups. However, there are discounts for children and 65-plus.
