Udaipur has a tiny airport 24 km from the city centre. It’s called Dabok Airport (UDR), or Maharana Pratap Airport, and there are only 5 flights a day landing here. It has no public transport connections, however you can easily travel to Udaipur centre by private transportation. The airport serves domestic and international tourists.
All taxi companies in Udaipur offer airport transfers. Pre booking a taxi for your airport transfer means you don’t need to negotiate a price with the touts or taxi drivers at the airport. If you pre book you will have a driver waiting for you at arrivals, who will also provide a meet and greet service at no extra cost. Your driver will be full of jokes and welcomes, and will probably offer his services as a tour guide / driver for your time in Udaipur.
Vehicles are usually comfortable Tata or Toyota estates which fit 4 passengers. A pre booked taxi will cost around Rs500 (approx.. €7-8). More luxurious vehicles are available with some companies.

Hiring a car with driver is very popular in Udaipur and enables to see outlying attractions like the Monsoon Palace. If you land in the morning this is an excellent option as you can hire a car with driver for the full day. You will be picked up at the airport, taken to your hotel, and then taken on a tour of Udaipur’s famous attractions.
If your group is renting a coach or minibus in Udaipur then the driver will meet you at the airport. This is a good option if you have flown from elsewhere in India.
If you have not pre booked you must pay for your taxi inside the airport. Go to the taxi counter and make a booking. You will be given a receipt to hand to the driver. Udaipur airport is tiny so you will have no problem finding the counter, especially when a handful of touts also offer to take you there. It’s best to ignore the touts as they are on commission which will be added to your fare.
It is not possible to get from Udaipur Airport to Udaipur by public transport. There are government plans for an airport shuttle bus but as yet no date for when this will be ready.
