High quality rental coaches and buses in Goa

Goa has arguably the most sophisticated tourist industry in India; after all, tourists have been coming here with their coloured trousers and crazy beards for over 50 years. Minibuses and coaches for hire are of much better quality than elsewhere in India. Any old coaches that are past their best are simply sold to another state, where they"ll become "luxury" coaches to hire.

What to see during your tour in Goa with a rented minibus with driver

Goa isn"t just one destination. Sure, we"ve all seen the photos of perfect beaches and 16th century ruins, and you can find them both in one place. But the delights of Goa are spread along 100km of unbroken coastline, and then weave their way into the interior. If you are renting a coach in Goa most journeys should take less than an hour, meaning each day you can explore a different part of the region. So if you"ve gone for minibus rental or coach hire in Goa make sure these are in your itinerary.

Old Goa:

The city of Old Goa used to be home to 200,000 people. But that was in the 17th century and what remains is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and If you have one jaunt away from sand and sangria than it must be to the city that gives the province its name. Archaic and wonderfully simple, the Se Cathedral took 80 years to construct. Its supporting cast include the Bom Jesus Basilica and the Church of St Francis of Assisi, although if you"ve come straight from the beach then cover up as no statue of Jesus wants to see an old woman in a bikini. Old Goa has a Catholic past, but there is also has a rustic charm to walking through the carefully preserved buildings. Your coach can park at the edge of the World Heritage area.

Northern Beaches in Goa:

Sand, sun bathing, and drinking beer on the beach; this is what you came for right? In many ways the Northern Beaches fulfill images of a classic beach holiday. But there are some differences. High up north there are more cows than sunbathers and the de facto drink for lying in the sun is hot Indian chai. With a coach you can cruise the coastline and find your own piece of paradise.

Want more action? Arambol Beach is full of long haired men playing the guitar badly, Anjuna Beach is the place for dressing in multicoloured buddha t-shirts, and Baga Beach is the top hang out spot for Indian tourists. Calangute is where you should come if you like to wear football shirts, drink beer for breakfast, and walk around showing your pot belly.

Southern Beaches in Goa:

The Southern Beaches are quieter and often completely deserted, apart from the wandering cows obviously. Some have been eaten up by all inclusive resorts, each seemingly catering only for people from one particular country. You can usually guess whether it’s Russian, English, or German by the swimwear on show. But away from these resorts there is tranquility to the Southern Beaches, best summed up by lying on a hammock in a bamboo hut.

Rural Goa:

Goa is rural. Away from the busy beach strips of Baga and Calungute you can drive for kilometres without seeing anything more than palm trees and cute villages. With a coach or minibus rental you can cruise through this green landscape, admiring the authentic sights of Goa and then stopping for a genuine Goan fish vindaloo – although this is only for those who have a toilet on board the coach. In Goa when you"re done with the charming scenery, head into Panjim, then the state capital that"s small enough to walk around in an hour.
