Let us know if your favourite attraction or ‘bus-stop’ is not there and you think we should add it to our list of Beijing highlights.

What to see during your tour in Beijing with a rented minibus with driver

Are you ready for Beijing? China"s cultural capital has 2000 years worth of attractions to explore, all dotted around the city and the surrounding area. It"s jam packed with sights, but also with traffic and people, so having a private chauffeur and coach really makes it easier to get around conveniently.

On our website we list a number of bus companies that provide a rented minibus or coach with driver, like Tour Beijing in Dongcheng District, or CNAdventure on 1 Dongbinhelu. These companies have experienced English speaking drivers and some can even provide guides that speak French, German, or other languages.

Sights in Beijing

Beijing has been the cultural capital of China for 2000 years. That means it"s lived through the Mings, the Songs, the Tangs, and the Qings. They were all famous family dynasties, not just funny names to get you excited. The city has many attractions but they"re spread throughout the city, and some like the Great Wall are an hour away from Beijing. Most major attractions have a coach park which makes it easy for your group to be dropped off and picked up.

Great Wall of China

Imagine a building so great it"s visible from space. We"re not sure if astronauts actually saw the wall from the moon, but you can see the 20metre wide wall from up close. Badaling is the most famous and visited part but it"s so popular that sometimes it can feel like the great wall of people. However, with a rented coach and driver you can get out to the less popular areas which are just as impressive, and you"ll have photos without thousands of other people. Like Mutianyu, Jinshanling, and Simatai. Have a good breakfast before you go because the steps are very steep, and feel like climbing a mountain.

Tienanmen Square

This is the largest city square in the world and it"s surrounded by majestic old buildings with ridiculously pompous names. Like the Great Hall of the People or the Monument to the People"s Martyrs. Queue for the mausoleum of Chairman Mao and take a peek and what the communist leader looked like. Be careful with your camera, taking a photo of the famous leader is a very serious crime.

Temples and Palaces

You can explore palaces and temples covering almost 2000 years, and after a few days you"ll know the differences between different Ming, Qing, and Tang architecture. Admire the incredible Lama Temple, wander through the Summer Palace, or go on a spiritual journey in the Temple of Heaven in Chongwen. Your driver will stop in dedicated coach and minibus parks. Most famous of all is the walled Forbidden City that has over 960 buildings and deserves at least half a day in your itinerary.

Old Beijing

Beijing"s old streets and alleyways are called hutongs. They can be found hidden all over Beijing, but are fast being destroyed as the city modernises. It"s where you"ll find loads of bicycles, people living on the street (and spitting and smoking all the time), and it"s home to tea shops and confusing local restaurants where ordering is like playing lucky dip. With a coach you can visit many different old districts, the most famous being Qianmen and Houhai.

New Beijing

Admire all the flashing lights and skyscrapers from the coach window and then head out to the 2008 Olympic stadium, which looks even better in real life than it did on TV. The Chinese are really exploring modern architecture and with your coach you"ll be able to get close to some remarkable buildings.
